We are HIRING a traveling dome presenter:The Ontario Planetarium is looking for a lively, dynamic, well-centered professional travelling dome presenter to work a variety of dates at for schools, libraries, seniors residences, parks, resorts, malls and more.
This position offers exceptional-for-industry pay for variable dates that generally work out to 3-4 days a week and opportunities to travel throughout the province and beyond.
Qualifications:
– 1-2 years of experience presenting public programs
– literacy in a variety of standard programs/apps (Microsoft, Google, etc..)
– ability to physically set-up pieces of equipment weighing up to 75 lbs (35 kg)
– clear criminal reference / vulnerable sector check
Duties:– present day-long roster of mobile planetarium experiences
– set-up and take-down of equipment
– be the primary point of communication with clients setting up logistics of travel to and implementation of shows (after initial calls/emails with management)
– trouble-shoot any technical challenges on-site
– receive payment cheques and deposit in company bank account
Salary:
$442.5 + $99 travel/day for most days of presentations.
($292.5 + $99 travel – $642.5 + $99 travel is the range but a majority of days of presentations are GTA schools that pay $442.5)
NOTE: This is NOT a 5-day-a-week 9-5 job.
